Astraeos is an impressive mod map for ARK: Survival Ascended, developed by the renowned modder Nekatus, who is also known for maps like Fjordur and Svartalfheim. This map transports players to an expansive world inspired by Greek mythology, covering approximately 264 km². The landscape features majestic mountain ranges, marble cliffs, white sandy beaches, and blooming cherry blossom groves. Ancient ruins and sacred temples await exploration everywhere.
In addition to the stunning environment, Astraeos also offers new challenges. Players can face powerful bosses and new enemies, including legendary creatures like Medusa and the Minotaur, lurking in the depths of the map. Additionally, new alpha dinosaur variants with improved loot have been introduced. Customized cosmetic mods, such as Astraeos - Wardrobe for custom skins, Astraeos - Structures for special buildings, and Astraeos - Trireme Ships for traditional Greek ships, provide an authentic Greek atmosphere.
Since February 2025, a premium version of Astraeos has been available as official DLC for ARK: Survival Ascended. This version expands the map with additional content and offers an even more detailed world. Players can seamlessly switch from the free mod version to the premium version without losing progress; only a change in map settings is required. However, it should be noted that due to the size of the map, technical issues may occur on lower-performance consoles like the Xbox Series S.
