General information about ARK Survival Evolved maps (witch are also active on our cluster).

The Island

The Island is the original map of ARK: Survival Evolved and forms the basis for the game’s story. It is characterized by diverse climate zones and geological regions, including five large mountains in the north and vast plains in the south. Three large obelisks form a triangle on the island and serve as prominent landmarks.

With the introduction of ARK: Survival Ascended in October 2023, The Island has been extensively revamped. The map received a graphical redesign with more detailed textures and denser vegetation, making the environment appear more vibrant and realistic.

Scorched Earth

Scorched Earth is the first paid expansion for ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended. Originally released in 2016 for PC and Xbox One, the PS4 version followed later. The remaster for ARK: Survival Ascended was released in 2024. This expansion introduces a completely new desert map with unique environmental conditions, new creatures, and numerous items. Players must face special challenges, including extreme heat, limited water resources, and dangerous weather phenomena such as sandstorms and electrical storms.

Aberration

Aberration is an expansion for ARK: Survival Evolved that takes players into a damaged ARK with underground biomes. This environment presents unique challenges such as radiation, earthquakes, and dangerous creatures. Players can utilize new tools and structures to survive in this hostile world.

Extinction

Extinction is the third paid expansion for ARK: Survival Evolved, originally released in November 2018. In this expansion, players return to a ravaged Earth tainted by elements, populated by both organic and technological creatures. At the center of the map lies an abandoned city known as Sanctuary, surrounded by various biomes such as the desert, the snow dome, and the sunken forest. Players must face challenges such as corruption events, orbital supply drops, and powerful Titans that serve as bosses.

Amissa

Amissa is a beautiful fantasy map with a fascinating story about a past civilization that resisted tech technology. The map offers a diverse landscape with impressive biomes and unique creatures that enrich the gaming experience. Players can immerse themselves in a world full of mysteries, explore ancient ruins, and face challenging battles while discovering new areas.

Astraeos

Astraeos is an impressive mod map for ARK: Survival Ascended, developed by the renowned modder Nekatus, who is also known for maps like Fjordur and Svartalfheim. This map transports players to an expansive world inspired by Greek mythology, covering approximately 264 km². The landscape features majestic mountain ranges, marble cliffs, white sandy beaches, and blooming cherry blossom groves. Ancient ruins and sacred temples await exploration everywhere.

Atlantis

Atlantis is a premium mod map for ARK: Survival Ascended, developed by SnowyTrain. This fully underwater map invites players to explore the secrets of the sunken city of Atlantis and dive into an adventure full of mysteries. The map offers endless opportunities for exploration, with unique biomes and hidden areas waiting to be discovered.

Center

The Center is a free, official, and non-canonical DLC expansion map for ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended. Originally created by the modder Ben "EvilMrFrank" Burkart, this map features a variety of climate zones and geological regions that go beyond what is found on the standard map "The Island." The most notable features include a massive floating island in the west, surrounded by treacherous swamps, and an active volcanic island in the north, covered in basalt, lava, and dangerous predators.

Svartalfheim

Svartalfheim is a mod map developed by Nekatus for ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Survival Ascended, which is also responsible for the maps Valguero and Fjordur. Inspired by Norse mythology and dwarf culture, this map offers a unique player experience over an area of 33 km². A special feature of Svartalfheim is the flight ban: flying dinosaurs do not appear on the map, forcing players to explore the detailed landscape on foot or with land creatures. This design promotes a more intense and challenging gameplay.
