Offline Raid Protection

OGS

The topic of Offline Raid Protection (ORP) is currently difficult to implement – either with the standard vanilla settings or with the help of mods. Until early November, we had Simple ORP activated, which had some weaknesses (e.g., the ORP function was no longer active after a server restart, and the configuration was problematic). The vanilla ORP also comes with limitations: once a player is offline, all structures and creatures of that player become invulnerable across the entire map.

Currently, we started using the Offline Guard System (OGS) by Don Camillo to ensure offline raid protection. Although this mod has not been developed for ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE) for several years, it works with certain limitations.

Our current settings specify that the ORP activates after 60 minutes of inactivity and increases the damage of the turrets to three times (compared to online with 1.5 times). Additionally, upon re-logging, all structures and animals in the base are healed. However, structures and animals remain vulnerable even in offline mode.

There is the possibility to activate a protection buff for structures and animals in offline mode. However, this currently leads to a known bug: after each server restart, the health points of structures and animals are multiplied (e.g., the health points of a foundation increase from 15,000 to 30,000 after the first restart). A possible solution could be a daily reset of health points immediately after the restart; this is still being tested.
