Terra Nova
Terra Nova is a US science fiction series produced by 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Television, among others with Steven Spielberg as executive producer. It aired in 2011 on Fox and is set in the year 2149, in a world threatened by overpopulation and environmental destruction. Scientists discover an anomaly that allows travel 85 million years into the past to establish a new civilization, Terra Nova.
At the center is the Shannon family, who get into legal trouble because their third child is illegal. After the father serves time in prison, the family manages to smuggle themselves to Terra Nova. There, they begin their new life in a natural environment that contrasts with the destroyed Earth, but face challenges such as dinosaurs and internal conflicts among the colonists. The settlement is led by Commander Nathaniel Taylor and protected by high fences against dangers.
