ARK: Lost Colony
Studio Wildcard has announced "Lost Colony," the next major expansion for ARK: Survival Ascended, which is set to be released in November 2025. This expansion fills the gap between the previous expansions "Extinction" and "Genesis" and leads directly into the events of ARK 2.
In "Lost Colony," players take on the role of the legendary survivor Mei Yin and embark on an intense journey to Arat Prime, the origin of the ARKs. There, they encounter new, exotic creatures, unlock powerful "Lost" skill trees, craft "Cursed" equipment, and master advanced new building systems (presumably from ARK 2).
A special highlight of the expansion is the cinematic anime sequences produced by the renowned Japanese animation studio MAPPA, known for works like "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Attack on Titan." Additionally, Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh lends her voice to the character Mei Yin, supported by other notable voice actors such as Madeleine Madden and Auli'i Cravalho.
However, the icy wastelands of Arat Prime are not uninhabited; rather, corrupted factions have established themselves there, attempting to undo the achievements from the end of "Extinction." In the original story of ARK, overcoming the elemental corruption on Earth led to a new beginning for humanity. These factions in "Lost Colony" may try to sabotage this progress, presenting new challenges for players.
Pre-orders for "Lost Colony" will begin in June 2025. Players who access it early will receive immediate access to exclusive preview content of the expansion. With a price of $29.99, "Lost Colony" will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
